Panfuti, Bryophyllum – Medicinal Plant (in polybag)

Common names– PANFUTI, Paththar Chat

This is perennial plant. The plant is grown commercially in many parts of our country and sold to pharmaceutical companies for use as medicine. During hot weather also, this plant can tolerate sun & heat. More watering during cold weather may damage the plant. This plant can attain maximum height of 3-4 feet.

Watering & Sunlight:

It can survive without water for a longer time. We should water it if soil has become fully dry. Drainage in pot is necessary by making sufficient holes in bottom. To make the ideal potting mix, 20 % drainage media (river sand/ Leca/ Perlite/ Pumice or rice husk- use any one of them) in potting mix should be available. In rest of the potting mix, we should mix vermicompost (20 %) and garden soil. During extreme cold, reduce watering frequency. The plant can grow in diffused sunlight also.
