1.      Our Old Brand Name - GIFTnPLANTS is now 'DORO KE FYTA'. Most of the plant lovers find this size of Pumice (4-8mm) more suitable for soil conditioning (for mixing in soil) of Bonsai, Adenium and other big plants.

2.      If you wish to use Pumice for mulching (top soil layer), this size is correct choice. As per our opinion, 4-8mm or bigger size of pumice is more suitable for top layer of plants. Mulching of Pumice does not attract fungus or insects.

3.      These Pumice granules can be used as a better alternative for Perlite. Pumice stones do not break down so easily. Pumice helps plants in faster drainage also. However, Perlite breaks down in powder form easily and may clog the soil drainage. Due to these reasons, most of plant lovers prefer to use pumice stones in potting mix, instead of Perlite.

4.      They retain moisture in optimum quantity and provide needful micro-nutrients continuously to plants' roots. Pumice stones ensure proper drainage in soil. All nutrients can be stored in the small holes of these stones for continuous supply to plants.

5.      Pumice stones have been successfully used in Bonsai plantation and other plants in Japan for a long period. Use of Pumice stones in potting mix of garden plants is considered as the best choice because it’s fully organic. For organic farming, use of these stones is increasing.

6.      Ph value of pumice ranges from 7 upto 8. Ph value of 7 is considered neutral. More than 7 value shows alkaline content and less than 7 indicates acidic content. After washing of pumice its Ph value comes down partially. Pumice stones have a tendency to absorb atmospheric moisture, hence we may observe small droplets inside this pack, as a result of evaporation during hot weather. We have shown here all the 4 sizes of pumice available with us for reference of our customers.

7.      For experiment, we mixed samples of all four sizes of Pumice stones and tried to submerge in water filled glass pot (image is shown for your reference). We observed that If size of Pumice rock is big enough (bigger than 15mm), we can easily see most of them floating over water due to light weight and availability of more air cavities inside pumice rocks.

8.      But, if we break them into smaller pieces, air cavities of pumice gets filled up with water and find it bit difficult to float on water. But surprisingly, more than 50 % of 2-4mm Pumice stones were also seen floating on water surface. Bigger Pumice showed more chances of floating.

9.      Pumice stones are naturally made from volcanic rocks and therefore they are not found naturally in India. These stones are imported from other countries where Volcanoes are available. 2-4 % Pumice dust may be available in this pack.

10.  Use for Aquarium: Pumice stones are also used in Aquarium for water purification You have to wash it many times before using in aquarium, otherwise water of aquarium may look milky. It is suggested that you may use appropriate water filter also for aquarium to minimize its milkiness (if required).

  • Regular watering is essential, the rose will be stronger, healthier and, most importantly, produce more flowe
  • Early spring is the best time to prune and cut 1/4 inch above a bud eye so the bud eye doesnt dry out.
