  • Leca stands for 'Lightweight Exfoliated Clay Aggregate'. These balls are suitable for top dressing of soil (mulching), Hydroponic and mixing in potting soil.
  • Large sized (15-30mm) approx. 02 Ltr Leca balls will weigh 450 Gms. We wish to clarify that product will be sent on basis of weight, written in product title. We have mentioned approx. volume only for reference of customers, so that they can easily compare our prices with any other market place.  
  • These large sized Leca balls (size 15 to 30 mm) are used in gardening, hydroponics and to cover soil of potted plants. Due to presence of large air cavities inside these Leca balls, this is most suitable size to make soil-less potting mix for Orchids and many more plants.

     

  • These are also used in hydroponic horticulture. It is also used for providing better drainage in soil. It ensures overall better health of plants. Ph value : 7-8, An ideal growing medium must not be too acidic or basic. pH value of these clay balls is neutral.

  • Suitable for mulching (Top Dressing of Soil). It gives aesthetic look to plants. Use of Leca balls is always better than use of Pebbles over soil, because Leca balls are very light weight and they maintain roots aeration without giving any undue pressure over them.

  • For experiment, we mixed samples of all four sizes of Leca balls and tried to submerge in water filled glass pot (image is shown for your reference). We observed them floating over water due to light weight.

  • These balls can absorb water upto some extent. Percentage of broken balls will be Approx 3% only. These balls are also used to make soil-less potting mix for Orchids and many more plants. Other sizes of these balls are also available with us. These are used as soil conditioner for plants and it retains water. It helps in better aeration and root growth.

  • Due to availability of air cavities in these clay balls, they ensure proper exchange of gases in soil for better growth of plants. If you wish to use pebbles over the surface of potted plants' soil, you must prefer to use these Leca balls (Approximately 20%) in potting mix.

  • These balls are very light weight and popularly used in terrace gardening and gardening with vertical pots. With use of these balls, potting media becomes very light weight.

  • As per our experience, we would recommend to use large size of Leca Balls in the lowest portion of pots, so that it will reduce spillage of potting soil through drainage holes. Moreover, it will provide more roots' aeration.

  • Use of Leca for mulching (top dressing) of plants is very useful. Leca balls helps plants in protection from weather adversity(i.e. Winter and Summer). Leca Balls are used for thermal insulation in construction industry. Civil engineers and students use these Leca balls for various construction projects as a light weight filling material.

Damascus roses are known for its distinct fragrance. Enjoy the real and oldest scent of rose.

The Damascus rose is a deciduous shrub growing up to 2.5 meters tall, the stems densely armed with stout, curved prickles and stiff bristles. The leaves are pinnate shape, with five or rarely seven leaflets. The roses are a light to moderate pink colored. The relatively small flowers bloom in groups.

It is considered an important type of Old Rose.

Planting And Care

  • Slow release or organic fertilizers applied to the ground are the most effective; however foliar feeds are also valuable for a quick effect and to help keep the leaves healthy.
  • Mulching with organic matter (a very wide range is available) is a very important part of rose growing, helping to conserve water, keeping the ground cool and feeding the micro-organisms and worms in the soil.
  • Regular watering is essential, the rose will be stronger, healthier and, most importantly, produce more flowe
  • Early spring is the best time to prune and cut 1/4 inch above a bud eye so the bud eye doesnt dry out.

Damascus Rose Care

Best planting season of Rose plants are in July - August at 75 cm x 75 cm spacing. Rose plant propagation is cutting and budding. At the time of plantation, use a potting mix as soil, vermicompost, and coco peat. Re-pooting is done in a spring season.

Ornamental Use:

  • Roses are best known as ornamental plants grown for their flowers in the garden and sometimes indoors

  • Rose hips are occasionally made into jam, jelly, marmalade, and soup or are brewed for tea, primarily for their high vitamin C content
  • They are also pressed and filtered to make rose hip syrup
