Rain Lily Plant, (Multi-Colour) (in polybag)

These plants have fast growth rate. This plant have thin and long leaves. This plant is almost maintenance free. Even without fertilisers, this plant will show satisfactory growth. However, use of fertiliser shows faster growth and more blooming. It's a long life plant. Its red, yellow, pink, white or purple flowers(as per variety) look very pretty and bloom generally during monsoon season. These plants like frequent watering. If we have grown this plant and we don't water it for months, its leaves may be dead but its underground bulb in soil remains capable to re-produce new leaves. Even with low level of atmospheric humidity (25% ), this plant continues to grow healthily.

Watering & Sunlight:          The plant can grow very well in direct sunlight. Frequent watering is preferred by this plant, hence do not wait for drying up of soil before next watering. Water stagnation should never happen in pot, otherwise its bulb & root may rot. Drainage in pot is necessary by making sufficient holes in bottom. To make the ideal potting mix, 20 % drainage media (river sand/ Leca/ Perlite/ Pumice or rice husk- use any of them) in potting mix should be available.  If you grow this plant in shady area, its leaves will always be green.

Ornamental use, landscaping: This plant is widely used in landscaping and for making green cover under trees.
