Lucky Bamboo Plant- 2 Layered (Gift Plant)

This is a living plant with approximately 20 branches of lucky bamboo (bound together).  This plant is most commonly regarded as good luck plant. Feng Shui mentions this plant as auspicious plant for home, offices or any living area. It looks awesome at every office or drawing room. One of the best locations to place a lucky bamboo plant is in the east or south sector of your home or office. This plant does not require frequent fertilizer. Water change is mandatory within a week. This plant likes normal room temperature. During summer, if we feeling a room warm, we should immediately shift this plant to a cooler place. Temperature higher than 32⁰ C is harmful for its leaves. We can keep this plant in air conditioned room also. It is suggested that we expose this plant to morning sunlight for at least half an hour per day, if we have kept this plant in a room without diffused sunlight. The plant must be kept with a little diffused sunlight.

Our experiments:     We opened this bundle of Lucky bamboo and tied them with a thread into groupings of 3 branches. Thereafter, we planted them in a glass pot with water and jelly. We observed faster growth in entire plant. Leaves and roots showed more dense growth. Reason for faster growth – When we separated branches, they found more space to expand in nearby area. However, earlier all the branches were tied together and they were not finding sufficient space to expand.

We tried to grow it in cocopeat based potting medium also. After a few weeks, we observed some tiny flying insects in the cocopeat. Moreover, growth of plant was not better than RO water with water jelly. Hence, we don’t recommend to grow in cocopeat. We also experimented by growing it in soil too. But, as per conclusion of our experiments, we found out best growth of this plant in Water jelly or multi - coloured beads. We may add pebbles in water for beautification, but we have not observed any contribution of pebbles in growth of this plant.

Watering & Sunlight:        Water should be used for its roots’ better health. The water must be changed within a week for longevity of the plant. Availability of ventilated air space will be added advantage for its better growth. Water jelly or multi - coloured beads is ideal for its growth. Use of jelly enhances its beauty also. The plant must be kept indoor with a little diffused sunlight.
