Rice Husk for Plants, Garden Use

- Moreover, it provides partial protection from fungal attacks also. You can mix rice husk in soil upto 20%. Use of Rice husk or hull for better drainage in soil is increasing day by day everywhere.
- This works as a substitute of Perlite while making potting soil for Adenium, Rose and other plants. It is also being used in making vermi-compost due to its better aeration quality. Use of rice husk in soil improves overall health of plants. The soil does not get compact, after mixing rice husk.
- This rice husk is also used for mulching.
- As a soil-less media, this rice husk is also used. However, some rice grains (2-4%) may also be available in this rice husk and they may germinate after getting suitable conditions. To remove this problem, we may use partially burnt rice husk.
