Caladium Bulbs, Summer Seasoned Bulbs (Set of two)

We can easily plant these bulbs which are almost similar to size of small potato. We should place these bulbs on the soil media in a way, so that only its sprouting portion should be facing upside. Thereafter, you can cover with soil media. Water them thoroughly and keep them under indirect sunlight. On alternate days, sprinkle some water to maintain moisture in the root zone of bulb. Within 2 weeks, you will observe growth of new leaves from top side of the bulb. 

Leaves of this plant can attain large size. Its leaves can display unique combination of red, pink, green and white colours. This is almost maintenance free. Even without fertilisers, this plant will show satisfactory growth. However, use of fertiliser shows faster growth and more blooming. It's not a long life plant. During winter, its leaves will vanish. It prefers to grow under warm and humid climate.

Watering & Sunlight:           The plant can grow very well in diffused sunlight. Over watering is to be avoided. If we give excessive water, its bulb & root may rot. Drainage in pot is necessary by making sufficient holes in bottom. To make the ideal potting mix, 20 % drainage media (river sand/ Leca/ Perlite/ Pumice or rice husk- use any of them) in potting mix should be available.  Whenever the soil becomes dry, please water the plant. If you grow this plant in shady area, its leaves will always be green. Due to more sunlight or temperature (more than 35⁰ C), its leaves may burn.  But whenever climatic conditions will become suitable for this plant, it starts producing new leaves at very fast rate.
